I need to preface this review by disclosing that weizen-family beers are far from my favorites. My evaluation of this beer is more about its fidelity to the genre than my personal taste.

The beer pours hazy straw but there is no sediment. Head is creamy white and lingers. The nose is floral-forward but bready, yeasty sweetness is also pronounced.

Mouthfeel and carbonation are moderate, but certainly sufficient for those inclined to label beers as watery.

The taste is herbal/spice with the expected banana character. I also get some pear and Braeburn apple in between the herbal/spice and banana.

In sum, a fan of imported German Kristallweizens would likely find this a pleasing and fresher domestic option.

 

Pours a bright yellow with an opaque translucency. Head is three fingers of dense white foam with great retention. Aroma is banana, clove, herbal, spicy, and grassy hops. Emphasis on spicy hops. Wheat and (light) notes of grain. Flavor profile is clove, with spicy and grassy hops. Big wheat, grain, and banana on back half. Heavy yeast, which clings to the tongue. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a fuzzy, velvety texture. No silt. Overall, very drinkable. Heavy German yeast culture.

Slightly hazy straw yellow color with a modest foamy white head.
The aroma is crackery wheat, bananas, a hint of caramel and cloves.
The taste is also wheat, bananas, caramel and more than just a hint of cloves.
The body is light/medium, soft carbonation, fairly smooth and drinkable.
Altogether, this is a pleasant and tasty brew, refreshing, a nice summer cooler, and should go well with most foods.

12oz bottle from the brewery. Poured out a slightly cloudy, straw-yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of cracked wheat, caramel and some notes of banana. Great wheat taste with toasted caramel, citrus and banana flavors.
