Clockwork is the most american pub that I've visited in Europe. The pale painted walls, knotty wood bar, and decorative yet thoroughly modern spiral stairase would all have seemed at home in any American brewpub with an emphasis on food. It was a thoroughly pleasant stop with five house brews served with a traditional scottish method employing co2 from fermentation. There was a Cask Marque sign by the door, so - suspect its all on the up and up. There were a larger number of guest taps ranging from ubiquitous beers to craft breweries that were on or below my NERAX informed radar. The food was average good pub grub. However, I did not put it to the burger test. The biggest issue I had with the place was that it forced me to figure out Glasgows public transit. I'd recomend using the Florida hill stop instead of the kings park nonsense recomended by my guidebook.

Have visited a couple of times even though it is in an inconvenient location for me (must suit southsiders much better).

Their range of homebrewed beers goes well beyond the Scottish (or even British) staples, and as a former resident of Oregon I was excited to try their Oregon IPA. Alas this one was a bit of a stinker with an almost antiseptic flavour (and certainly not a patch on Brewdog's excellent Punk IPA), but some of their other beers hit the mark. Prices for their own brews are reasonable, but prices for other beers are steep, so stick with their own brews. Oddly both times I was there most of the clientele were drinking widely available beers.

In a city with a distinct lack of brewpubs this place is definitely worth a visit. Service is perfunctory but that is the standard in these parts. Don't go there expecting a night of great conversation!

I have been in this place a few times and it always seems to be quite busy. On a Saturday night the place, as expected in the city, can be quite crowded from my two visits at that particular time.

It is a friendly atmosphere in the place and the regular drinkers were very helpful in describing the beers and comparing them to ones that I was more familiar with. They were also very willing to allow me to taste as many of the beers I liked.

There was a great selection of real ales put through nitro taps, I just wish they had cask, even just a couple, they also had a few regular beers. They had a good selection of bottled European beers, they have a drinks menu all in different sections and styles. They even do a couple of eastern European style beers that are served hot. My friend came with me after she visited Poland and talked about the warm beer she had; she was delighted to see this on the menu.

They also have a great feature that allows you to take home two pints of your favourite beer. They pour it into a carton, similar to milk or fresh juice that you can buy from the supermarket; I just had to test this feature. Both cartons that I bought held up fine without any spillage or leakage.

Whilst I didn't have any food, my sister and her man had a meal and the taster I received was very nice and they duly agreed by clearing their plates.

It is slightly disappointing that they did not have cask ales, however the rest made up for it and they have a very wide selection of beers that are unavailable anywhere else.

This place is a bit off the beaten track for Glasgow visitors as it is in the southside of the city. Easiest way to get there is via train from Glasgow Central station to Mount Florida, journey time 10 minutes. It is not advisable to go here when there is a football match on at nearby Hampden Stadium.
I'll start by saying that my overall impression of this place was a big disappointment. Whilst they have a large selection of beer it is all nitro dispensed with no cask beer. I have had Deuchars IPA on nitro before and it is not a patch on the cask version that is becoming increasingly common in pubs in Scotland. This was on the the nitro beers here. Tried their own alt beer and whilst it wasn't bad it suffered from poor carbonation and was a struggle to finish. Also tried their ginger beer which was interesting but more for the novetly value than anything else. They have a pretty decent bottled beer selection and to be honest this would be the only reason I would go back.
I can't help but think that this pub really suffers when comparing to cask ale establishments such as The Bon Accord, Three Judges and Tennents. If it had been cask that would really have put a different perspective on things. Although it is probably better than 90% of the pubs in Glasgow... feels like a missed opportunity.
