12 oz. bottle, no bottled on date present. 'An elote-inspired ale' 'Ale brewed with popcorn, lime juice, lime zest, and peppers'. Acquired a single bottle of this stuff from the local beer store.
Poured into a Big Eddy snifter.
A - Pours a nice bright golden body, some active carbonation visible, with just over a finger of foamy creamy white head. Some yeast sediment visible at the bottom of the glass. Looks very nice.
S - An almost saison-ish aroma; earthy yeast, some muddled spicing (presumably from the peppers), and the lime zest. Not herbal or vegetal, and no distinct 'popcorn' in the aroma.
T - More wheaty / saison-ish / yeast than anything. None of the highlighted ingredients really stand out in the flavor. No corn / popcorn, and only a very vague hint of limes, with very minor peppery heat lingering on the finish.
M - Smooth, crisp, & clean. Light-bodied, and easy-drinking, with only very subtle pepper heat. Good carbonation.
Overall, a unique and inspired beer creation, though I wouldn't say it came out quite as intended. Didn't remind me of elote at all. More intensity of flavors next time, please. Unique, and worth a try.

Pours a lightly hazed glowing orange. Compact head of white foam, random spotty lace around the edges. Skim breaks after a couple sips.
Aroma is mild, pale crackery malt is pretty much it.
Taste is similarly mild, pale malt driven with a tiny inkling of peppers in the background that builds slightly over time. Lime is pretty nonexistent and there's definitely nothing buttery about it. Trace bitterness in the aftertaste, light with moderate carbonation, fairly dry. Bland and inoffensive, better than a macro but not much personality.

An interesting brew, to say the least. The buttery popcorn notes come out more as this warms up, with a vague sniff of lime and pepper. Creamy and full on the palate. Might well pair up with food better than as a stand alone offering. Novelty, would be little chance of me going back to this.
