this is way better than its ratings, just the second beer i have had from middle brow and a darn good one. i have hardly seen the hazy belgian ipa emerge yet, it makes sense, and there is definitely room for a beer like this on the scene! cool looking subtle pale green labels on the can, soft hazy to the straw colored brew, thick looking, with a dense white belgian head on it, nice lace as it drinks and plenty of aromatic depth. the azacca seems like the perfect hop for this, a little spice and a lot of citrus to me, complex without overtaking the beer, some bitterness there too at the end. the belgian yeast is rustic, not too clean and not overly estery either, subtle green apple, white wine, and pear to it, perfectly compatible with the hops and riding the round malt body from start to finish. a little turbid and starchy in feel, a little heavy there, but lightened up a lot by the high carbonation and the freshness of the hops in here, which are more than just dry hoppy and a really great expression of azacca overall. this came out of nowhere and really impressed me. ill be looking for more of their stuff next time i am in chicago for sure! drinkable and summery and just full of flavor. great new school belgian ipa!

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on May 9, 2018. A juicy IPA brewed with blended yeast and 007, Azacca and Mandarina hops. The blended yeast gives it an odd flavor.
