an amazing little wild beer right here, my first from these guys and a collaboration with jester king, who seems to get around the world pretty well! this is a very pale blonde saison type base with rhubarb in it, and its definitely the most forward and most natural rhubarb character i have known in a beer, really tart and honest, they did a great job keeping the beer light enough for that to come through so clearly, and i really dug this overall, as did all i shared it with. the packing here is awesome, subtle and attractive, classy. the first half of the large bottle is clear and super pale, like a really fizzy pils, the second has some sediment that clouds it, but the tone is still radiant and delicate looking. real rhubarb in the nose and taste, quite a bit of bacterial acidity, lemon and lime and a bit of white wine vinegar and white cranberry along with the natural piquancy of the rhubarb, which comes out more and more as this warms up to room temperature. this almost has a salted element to it, like there are minerals and dryness that seem to highlight the rhubarb beautifully, especially with the malt side being so light. there is a definite white wine aspect here, and a cool bretty funk that reminds me of so many other jester king beers, mature and drying and real complex, the right amount of pucker, and just gone on the finish. this tastes so lively and springy with the natural rhubarb, and its not too sour to drink a lot of. really awesome stuff, one of a kind, and a beer that has me real keen to get some more beers from stockholm brewing! if you find it, buy, buy, buy!
