Reviewed from notes. Served on draught in Glasgow. Coming from Ireland, I found myself a bit embarrassed to order a 'Black and Tan'. Quite a reprehensible title.

A: Nice bubble show as tan bleeds into black. Black colour with a creamy tan head after the bubble show ends.

Sm: Roasted barley, coffee.

T: Very coffee-laden. Roast comes through. Missing the complexity of Guinness: no toffee or chocolate. Balances its few notes and features a nice balanced finish as the coffee carries through.

Mf: Almost dry enough but not quite. Adequately coarse, but too smooth from the body through the finish.

Dr: It's grand-like, but hard to reach for when Guinness is a couple taps over. Stout fanatics like me would do well to give it a go.
