apparently brewed with real churros, my second from these guys, and my second dark strong desserty one, although i know they do other stuff than this. that this is of european origin is immediately evident here, if this were something trendy and american, the flavors of cinnamon and vanilla and chocolate would all be completely over the top, this would be diabetic in terms of sweetness, and the base stout would be little more than an overly alcoholic vehicle to deliver them. instead, this is a well made, full character stout at its core, some cocoa notes of its own from the malt to add to the mix, as well as a neat, slightly english yeast element, well refined overall, and not totally overtaken by the dessert elements in the flavor. the chocolate is the most forward addition, but its adult in every way, more of a luxurious dark than a sweeter milk, although there is some lactose in here giving it richness, its well integrated with the grain here, and the subtle hint of vanilla in this rounds it out nicely. im not sure i would say churro right away here, but id rather it be trace than dominant i think, and i like the way the cinnamon warmth is all in the finish. this is tasty beer, very professionally done, but way more winter than summer. i hope to try something from them next that isnt a flavored huge dark beer, but these have been good too so far!

With this beer I have had a very good beer experience. I really liked, from the label, the color, the evolution to glass and to the mouth, the cinnamon as a species. Good beer for people who like bland beers and no excuses

On tap at Armsby Abbey in Worcester, MA.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head and not much lacing.

This smells like candied cinnamon, roasted malt, coffee, maple, and dark chocolate.

This is maybe a touch thin, but it’s tasty. It’s quite dry for a pastry stout. There’s mild cinnamon, and lots of dark fudgy chocolate as well.

This is medium bodied, slightly thin, but very drinkable and crisp for the style.

Spanish pastry stouts are the next thing?

Bottle at The Situation. Pours a dark colour, medium head with long retention, creamy lacing. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, dough, ripened fruits. Medium body, creamy texture, good carbonation, sweet finish. Taste of chocolate, vanilla, honey, fruits, dough. Fortunately, no hints of churros, and also, no mention of them on the label. I was afraid to taste it because of the name, but it turned to be delicious.

De Tercertiempocervezas. En copa Teku. Jugando a Los Pilares de la Tierra. No encuentro churros ni chocolate sino equilibrado sabor a canela con notas lacticas y avainilladas. Abv oculto en sabor pero se sube a cabe
