Poured from a Ball can to a stemless Dois Corvos glass.
A: Body is thick and completely dark. Head is brown, toasted yellow and has a medium sustenance. No lacing.
S: The first thing in the aroma to be picked up is the molasses and the alcohol. You can find deep caramel notes, buttery tones, vanilla touchpoints too. Not the most complex Pastry Stout but for sure a pretty good one and direct to the point.
T: In the first part of the sip you can feel the heavy sweetness of this beer - without being overwhelming heavy - of vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, buttery biscuit, danish cookies. It's really pleasant. To the end of the sip you find a very small bitterness that, though not strong enough, it counteracts pretty well with the sweetness of the beer. It really feels like this beer doesn't need more bitterness even if the sweetness is generally high.
M: Body is high. Carbonation is simply perfect. Noticeable alcohol is medium high but nothing would suggest me that this is 11.5% ABV instead of a expected ~ 8% to 9%.
O: Again, not the most complex pastry stout but a very direct one and I'd have this again over and over. Thankfully I bought a 4 pack of these.
