Pours a dark cola color with tan head that clings to the glass longingly. It’s beautiful, but doesn’t look as much like an imperial stout as it does an imperial porter. The nose has some roast and lots of chocolate - and hops. Lots of citrus and pine.

The taste has the roast and chocolate, but this is really hoppy - more like an imperial dark IPA. The mouthfeel fits more in that category as well - not as much rich and creamy as kind of drying, but very full.

This is really good, but it really doesn’t fit the imperial stout designation.

Pours a dark chocolate color. Aroma is hoppy with roasted malts. Flavor hoppy up front with light notes of roasted malts and chocolate. Has a very smooth feel and overall this is another great beer from Columbus.

32oz growler filled at Heinen's in University Hts., Ohio

Growler poured into a snifter. Pours black with a khaki head that fades leaving great retention and sticky lacing. I'll start off by saying that this is a very hoppy stout that could pass for an Imperial Black IPA. The aromas are hop forward with lots of chocolate notes. Hints of coffee with some pine and citrus. The flavors basically follow the nose. Lots of chocolate and citrus. Lots of orange, lemon and lime. Lots of fresh pine needles as well. The chocolate never gets lost. The coffee notes are there, but very subtle. Alcohol goes completely unnoticed. Mouthfeel is awesome. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's extremely creamy, thick and fluffy. The body really stands out for me. Very smooth and easy to drink.

This is a very solid brew. It's not your traditional Imperial Stout. Once again, it's very hoppy and could pass for an Imperial Black IPA. Well crafted.
