Standard tangerine/orange flavor for a fruit forward ipa. Not mind-blowing but a pretty solid offering, the Fatheads one might be better though

In an attempt to become the fruitiest and smoothest IPA on the market, Columbus Brewing looks to the hops of Simcoe and Centennial to get things going. But generous amounts of citrus tilts the beer in a fruit juice direciton.
Technicolor Hat brightens up the room with a glowing and bright golden chrome appearance. As a strong fruit perfume passes the nose, the citrusy and tropical focus is evident. Sweet and slightly toasty on the tongue. the early palate is malty with caramel, honey, agave and lychee with a hint of graham cracker.
Full flavored and fruity, the sweet fruitiness rolls along the middle palate sharing strong flavors of lime, orange and lemon before trending more tropical with pineapple, mango, passionfruit and papaya. With the juiciness of cantaloup and the depth of apricot, the fruit flavors take on an herbal Fruit Rollup nature throughout, concluding much the same late in taste.
Full bodied and mildly cloying, the beer's smooth bitterness trends so smooth that its basically absent. The beer is more of a Fruit & Field beer than an IPA that needs more support and balance from its emboldened sweetness. Finishing fruity-sweet, Technicolor Hat follows with a sweet tea taste in a medium length aftertaste.

12 FLUID OZ. can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a brilliant amber color. It is topped with an inch of tan head that disappears quickly and leaves no lacing.
The smell is candied citrus fruit. I get orange and grapefruit. It smells pretty sweet.
The taste begins with sweet grapefruit juice, but bitter grapefruit hastily follows. Citrus flavor persists throughout. I was surprised at the initial grapefruit bitterness given the sweet citrus smell. The sweetness and bitterness reach an equilibrium after a few sips.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
It is similar to Elvis Juice with more bitterness than the aforementioned beer. It drinks easy enough. I could see this being a refreshing summer beer.

Pours a bright coppery orange, smells sharply of lemon, grapefruit; almost tart. Very light head and almost no lacing; clean. Upon the tongue this is very sharp. The high citrus note does not relent. This beer got better with each sip, but that first sip was scary. There is something artificial, almost chemical about the profile, but you grow into it. Still there is almost a dryness to the bite. That or my taste buds don’t know where to go. Overall, definitely unique and quite interesting.

Huge foam head. Nice deep gold color, some particles. Smells amazing, tastes amazing. Possibly the most citrusy beer I've ever had. Decent mouthfeel. This stuff is pretty amazing and unique, don't understand the other reviews. The flavor isn't 100% natural but it's mighty delicious.

I got a 6pck of this beer from my local meijer store. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had a variety of citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi clear life-savor flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

L: Quite a lively brew. Best poured cold and gently. It's orange, I don't think they roasted the malts, I think it's orange from an adjunct addition.
S: Do they just mix in Tang or do they use real oranges?
T: Orange peel and a couple of hop varieties. I can't really taste the malt profile underneath the bitter notes.
F: Tastes strong like Columbus usually does. You could say it's curiously intense.
O: It's alright. Groovy Juice from FatHeads is better because it tastes leafy and this one just has a bunch of hop extract. Technicolor Hat is not bad, but it could be more. Fans of Columbus will want to try it regardless, it does retain the signature hop blend.
