32oz growler filled at Save-On Tobacco & Beverage in Mentor, Ohio
Poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden-yellow; small white head that fades and leaves nice retention and lacing. Smells like pineapple juice. Lots of orange with even some subtle hints of mint in the nose. Mango is in the mix. Some bready caramel notes, but they're very subtle. The flavors are very juicy and refreshing. They don't pop and aren't as crisp and bitter as I recall, but they're still enjoyable nonetheless. Tons of citrus. Lots of pineapple, which is what I really get alot of. Tons of pineapple. More mango and orange zest. Hints of pine. Malts are there. It's sweet, but very clean. The mouthfeel is great. It's soft on the palate; medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Extremely smooth and dangerously drinkable. Once again, this isn't really bitter and the flavors feel watered down at some moments, but it still manages to taste really good despite lacking bite.
This is like drinking fresh pineapple juice, literally. Very nice IPA from Columbus. It gets extra credit for being so smooth and drinkable. It doesn't have that sharp/crisp bitterness alot of wet-hop/fresh-hop IPAs have, but it's still very tasty. It's worth checking out if given the opportunity.
