Nothing exceptional. Just bitter hops, decent malt backbone but lacking that nice chef’s kiss of perfection you get with an IPA like Maine Brewing’s Lunch and Dinner. Masthead Brewing in Cleveland nailed it last Fall with an experimental No. 7 and it was hop deliciousness. Thought this would be something special but it’s not. Sorry CBC I tried.

Poured out of a 12 oz. can into my tulip glass, this beer pours a mostly clear, medium to dark golden color with a nice, fluffy looking whitehead that’s over an inch thick when first poured. Head settles to a thick Surface coaching of foam along with a sick ring of foam lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface.Good lacing here too. Aromas of some bready, slightly zesty malts Along with some piney, resinous, earthy, floral hop notes. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned bready and slightly zesty malts Followed by some residence, Piney, earthy and floral notes. While the flavor profile is pretty well balanced, the hop flavors certainly do dominate overall. Which of course is a good thing here, with a fairly pungent hop bitterness flavor that works wonderfully here. Has a crisp, smooth, also frothy, medium to full body mouth filled with moderate to heavy carbonation. Has a clean finish, and all of the flavors Linger nicely on my palate for a while after each step for the aftertaste. A very excellent beer here indeed!

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in a pint glass
This beer pours amber and haze a slight haze. Suspended yeast is visible. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves nice lacing.
Piney and resiny nose with some underlying citrus. As it warms, I get some peach notes.
Bitter pine flavor with grapefruit rind. The bitterness lingers a bit.
Thinner bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
I'm a CBC fan. I'll drink anything they put hops in. Most are good. This is no exception.

L: 2 finger head with tight small bubbles. chill haze with some thick light copper coloring. Carbonation slowly fights its way up. Top marks on the lacing
S: slight pine + slight citrus = excitement to get drinking
T: smooth bite on the hops with a smokey underbelly.
F: a little foam rises on the back of the throat. Subtlety distracting
O: strong start that was maintained throughout the review.

I tried this beer off the tapper as part of a four sample flight at the Beer Hall location with my Old Oswego Crewmate from FLO-Rida after he landed in Columbus. It was a very good slightly hazy IPA. It had citrus fruit presence.
