On tap in a pint glass on 2/13/12
Golden in color with a touch of honey highlight. Nearly clear with just a soft layer of haze. One finger white head. Thin film of retention with a few patches of drippy lace.
Smells so great. Plenty of grassy hop goodness spiked with orange and clean citrus zest, lemon grass and herbal notions. Lush, pristine malt bill of fresh grain - pilsner malt, I assume. Hint of dusty yeast. Soft spiciness.
The medium light body and crisp front-end carbonation with a billowing taper carry forth one of the simplest, cleanest, best tasting lagers I think I've had. Grain, grass, toastiness, modest hop crackle and dry, powdery-soft finish.
I'm not going to bother raving about this beer; there's no need. It's just a great, easy-drinking critter. Don't expect some amazing wow factor - this is every day drinking goodness.
Hey CBC - If this beer and Bock are how y'all do lagers, keep 'em coming!

I found this one at Columbus Beerfest.
A- Pours a bright, slight bit of haze golden yellow with a nice white head. Head has ok retention and leaves a bit of spotty lacing.
S- Smell is quite bready with a bit of hop spice.
T- Taste is dominanted by bready, cracker and biscuity malts. A very faint hop spice.
M- Lighter side of medium in body and carbonation was pretty solid.
O- I found this one pretty dry almost to dry. I'd give it another shot down the road.

This is one of the recent one-offs produced by the brewery. I tried this at their NE Ohio Launch Party at The Buckeye Beer Engine.
A very simple, clean lager - just as any true German Lager ought to be. Brewed with 100% Vienna malt and 100% Tettnang hops.
Normally lagers don't catch my attention very much, but this was good enough to go back for more despite insanely good alternative CBC choices such as Creeper and Bodhi.
Unfiltered, yet still quite clear in the glass. Typical pale yellow color with a short cap of white foam. Leaves spotty lace.
The aroma is where this little gem starts to take off. Nice and floral with faint grassy notes and the hint of pale malts. As far as lagers go this is clean smelling and inviting.
Boy does this taste great. The malt is really pushed to the forefront, and exhibits a strong presence that most American Lagers only dream about or aspire to have. Crackery and crisp, with a lovely honey-like residual flavor.
Refreshing and quaffable, I'd happily buy this over and over. I'd love to have a great local lager to turn to when I needed a break from all of the hoppy or dark beers that I typically drink.
Ohh, and it is now a goal of mine to drink this out of a large beer stein or boot!
