Aug. 2007: Cask conditioned at Blackfriars, Glasgow. Amber coloured beer, low head, nice lacing. Nice aroma, malty with noticeable tropical fruits (aromatic hops). Nice hoppy flavour, lots of citrus / tropical fruits on a decent malty base.

Served in a half-pint glass. Reviewed April 2011. From notes.

A: Stark-white head. Clear. Yellow and imperturbable.

S: Hoppy...creamy-tart.

T: Really darn good! Perfect fruit, balanced tartness, drying and fruity finish. I'm very happy with this beer. An oddly smoky undertone...Delicious.

M: Creamy, tasty all-around. Substantial and nice.

O: One of the best cask ales I've ever tasted. To be fair, I have been indulging for some time, but it's still damn good.

Reviewed from notes during a trip to Glasgow, Scotland. Poured from a cask ale into a pint glass.

A: Thin, poor retention head. Gold-copper colour. Transparent. Generally appealing.

Sm: Hardly anything. Maybe barley?

T: Very, very one-note. Clean unimpressive open to one note of barley (very much a treated amber style of barley, but nonetheless...) to an empty maltish finish. Feckin hell, lads. Where's the beef?

Mf: Standard fare.

Dr: There are far better brews to be had in Glasgow, and I've only been here a day. Either this beer sucks or I'm a bit too beer-enthusiastic (or both).

Half pint served from the cask at the Paisley Beer Festival

A- Dark amber blonde body with a 2 finger soapy head, lacing is average.

S- Citrus and floral hops. Grapefruits.

T- Hops are subdued here in the beginning, with malt making a bit more impact than it should. Light passionfruit notes, fade quickly

M- Low carbonation, medium body.

D- Easily drinkable, just would like the hops to make more of an appearance to make it more refreshing. A nice offering

Pours a dark golden yellow with amber and red hues. The head is thick and clumpy

The nose was a lot of toasted bread and biscuits with sweet brown sugar and some light fruity notes

Taste really has more going on than the nose. Roasted nuts and toasted brown bread, buttery, baked cookies, apples and pears and other ripe fruits.

Medium bodied, soft carbonation

Had this at NERAX 2007 FRI night

Bright, honey gold beer with a fluffy white head.

Brisk, hoppy aroma.

Light-bodied, with an fruity malt tasting of apples and oranges on a toasty base. Lemon-resiny finish that develops more oranges as it lingers.

Pretty nice.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thick collar of white foam from the sparkler. Lots of foam left all the way down the glass. Quite a pretty beer methinks. Moderate hop aroma in the nose, strong grapefruit hints. The same grapefruity hops carry through the length of the taste backed up by some biscuity malts. Long and lingering finish. Nice and smooth mouthfeel with a moderate weight to it. Quite pleasing. A decent and refreshing pint. Not very complex, but quite pleasant nonetheless. You could make a session out of this.
