500 ml bottle retrieved from Scotland.
Lightly smoky and slightly peaty, with a generous load of dark malt. Very tasty with a fine aroma. Lightly sweet overall.
Excellent for style.

I sampled a pint of this on a recent trip to Glasgow at the Pot Still in Hope Street.
The beer poured nicely into a pint glass leaving a thin creamy head and a very dark body, almost black.
Quite a complex nose to this beer. Like many of the dark beers it was dominated by malts and molasses, but there was a hint of figs, nuts and roasted caramel.
This led to a very complex flavour. An initial burst of bitter hops were quickly replaced with roasted malts and a lingering after taste of coffee, nuts and a slight hint of burnt caramel.
The beer was surprisingly light in mouthfeel for a dark beer, but this added to it's drinkability. I finished one and then decided to stay for a couple more pints before moving on. A nice pint for a change, but a bit too many flavours to make it onto my list of beers that I could drink all night. Worth a try.
