Served in a half-pint glass.

A: Very dark; impenetrable but with reddish glints throughout. Brown, thick head with impressive retention.

S: Coffee overtones and chocolate malts. Very nice bittersweet combination.

T: A little light on flavour, but a pleasant coffee bitterness that starts in the maintaste really hits its stride in the excellent aftertaste (the best facet of this beer). Slight chocolatey notes.

M: Medium-bodied and mediocre.

O: A very nice porter and a recommended cask ale. Not super-amazing, but certainly worthwhile.

On cask at the Dog and Duck, appearance is dark with a tan head leaving foamy lace.

Smell is lightly sweet and fruity, with a charred back note. A touch of diacetyl.

Taste is very chocolatey, some roast, and a touch chalky. Full, robust flavor.

Mouthfeel is medium light yet a bit watery.

Drinkability is good, loads of stout flavors packed into a modestly alcoholic real ale. Dig it.

Black color, light brown colored foam, one finger, but beautiful, sticky, good appearance.
Toasted notes in the smell, some vanilla, and maybe even a light note of cane sugar.
Quite sweet in the mouth, but not too much. Malty, with cane sugary hints.
Cappuccino.
Cacao notes.
Pleasant and drinkable.
