Canned 8/30/17
Pours a thicker foamy creamy 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, lots of sticky lacing, semi clear darker auburn almost mahogany color. Great head, color too dark.
Nose loads of sweet malt, coppery toasted grainy malt, some sweet caramel notes, biscuity toffee, but mostly big reddish malt, some grassy hops.
Taste a touch of fruity lager, big sweet malts again, toasted grainy biscuity toffee, caramel, toasted reddish and copper malts, almost syrupy which clashes with the lagering, not much by way of lager other than fruity notes, touch of grassy hops in teh background. Sticky, slightly bitter finish.
Mouth is med bod, a bit syrupy like, decent carb.
Overall not much of an actual Oktoberfest, just a sweet candy malt beer that has touches of lager and hops, typical American like faux O-fest that is just nothing like any of the good German Marzens.

1 liter growler that was filled up at the brewery was poured all into a 1 liter mug.
Appearance: A two finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a copper color with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Toasted, bready, cereal, caramel, a little doughy, and Noble hops. The aroma is traditional to the style. Not to doughy either.
Taste: Toasted bread, cereal grains, caramel, Noble hops, and slight bitterness. Nice blend of hops and malts and very tasty.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, slight bitterness, and a little chewy.
Overall: This brewery keeps putting out stellar beers. Good to know I can stop in here late on a Friday after dealing with traffic from Boston to OOB.
