Zealot
Banded Brewing Co. IPA - New England / Hazy
Strong nose of wet hay fields, grass, and sweet pine. Snappy white wheat earthiness and bitter pine sap hits first in the hops. Hop combo here is very earthy with malt being deeply grainy and of dry earth. Amarillo hop flavor is maxed out. Very clean.

Out of a 16 fl. oz. can dated 051121. Sampled on May 16, 2021.
It is a pulpy looking, hazy, amber-yellow color under a soft ivory head. Definitely looks the part.
Pleasing aromas of floral, spice, and sourdough bread. The hops notes are there but not in my face.
Medium to full mouthfeel.
The spiciness is more notable in the taste but there is plenty of juice and mild sweetness too.

From a 16oz can, dated 09/21/18. Served in a spiegelau-style IPA glass.
Pours a semi-opaque, hazy, sort of copper-amber-gold colour with two fingers of soft, shaving cream-like head. Retention is very good, leaving a thick, sudsy cap and a solid curtain of lacing.
Smells of pineapple, pine and shortbread cookie.
Taste is nicely balanced, sweet at first, the shortbread cookie with orange and pineapple at first, followed by a woodsy, floral, sort of incense-like musty character and, finally, spicy grapefruit and pine, hop-oily bitterness.
Feel is oily, smooth and mouth-coating, medium-plus bodied, and very brightly carbonated.
Overall, a complex, multi-layered palate and a well-constructed body make for a delicious, enjoyable, easy-drinking, somewhat unique IPA. I wish I'd bought the whole four-pack rather than just the single.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!
A - Medium gold pour with alot of tiny suspended floaties and soapy lacing.
S - Balanced between citrus and flowery on the nose with some light juicy dankness.
T - Dank peppery citrus rind with nice floral bitterness and a lasting bitter citrus rind.
M - Big medium body, dry on the back of the tongue and very wet in the front of the mouth.
O - This is an enjoyable IPA. Really liking what Banded Horn is doing!
