Canned 8/22/18
Pours a nice foamy bubbly 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, nice retention, a bit of lacing, hazy slight sediment amber hue copper color
Nose nice fruity hops, some citrus, orange rind, a little tree fruit, little sweet like aroma despite prob not being sweet, like candied stone fruit, then some fruity wine, red grape must and almost berry like, a touch spicy too
Taste brings sweet like candy flavors but not sweet at all, plenty of fruit, a little citrus orange rind, more candied tree and stone fruit notes, hops getting a little spicy later, with fair bitterness ramping, a bit of red grape skin and winey notes but barely, a mild creamy soft malt too, finishing very dry as expected but also very bitter, big bitterness lingering
Mouth is med bod, decent but lighter carb, a touch soft and dry
Overall meh, not nearly as good as the white, perhaps the age (although only a couple weeks longer on this one), or the white wine must blended a lot nicer and came out a lot more, this was OK at best IMO, and interestingly this has higher ratings
