Got this a while ago - having a can way back when and this now as I'm finally getting around to all of the Greenpoint in my house. This was a good beer to get back into the proverbial flow with, as it was soft, balanced, and easygoing though there wasn't much of anything memorable about it in particular.
Relatively pedestrian pour to this as the beer was a muted goldenrod with plenty of head and lots of sediment left to pour out. A good amount of ringed lacing lined my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Melon, raspberry juice, yeast, and moderate tropical fruit in the nose were overpowered by the sediment and Greenpoint's trademark yeast in the taste. A slight dankness from the Mosaic dominated the mouthfeel as this felt like it was overripe from start to finish. A nice slickness stayed on my teeth once this went down but it felt like this had too much Pilsener Malt in it, even though I wasn't sure if that was the case in actuality.
Not a lot of booze in this as it went down easily and almost mindlessly. I'm 100% sure this was better fresh but how much so remained a question. Not a winner but not a bad beer either - which is fine every now and then!

Poured hazy gold/orange. Was not sure if i enjoyed the smell or the taste more. Juicy, dank and refreshing. 7.2%. Ran to my local store the same night to buy more. Can not wait for this to be available again.

CAN: 16 fl oz format. Pull-tab. Great math-focused label art on a black label. 4 pack purchased at a Whole Paycheck in NYC for $16.99.
"Brewed with 50% malted oats, and copious amounts of American Centennial, Citra and Mosaic hops."
Hazy murky obviously unfiltered pale copper body. Call it true to the purported "East Coast Style" IPA, but it still looks inferior to clean filtered IPAs with more vibrance. Head is somewhat weak, lacking evenness and any attributes that could be considered robust. Not particularly soft or frothy. Leaves fairly thick lacing on the sides of the glass as it recedes.
AROMA: No citrus from the Citra, no subtle blueberry from the Mosaic. Just vague Mosaic-derived tropical fruit and generic Centennial-derived floral aromatics. Some onion as well.
Lacks much of interest hopwise. No oils, resins, fresh citrus, pungent floral notes, etc. There's just not much here in terms of pungent hop character.
Pale malts keep any hop bitterness checked, but frankly it seems less hoppy than many pale ales.
Suggests a shallow muddled unbalanced pale ale (not IPA) with little of interest in terms of flavour. Aromatic intensity is low.
No overt off-notes. No booze.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Thin yet coating. Light to medium-bodied. Weak presentation of flavour.
Shallow and reticent throughout, with no pungency to its hop profile whatsoever and no fresh or interesting hop flavours. Generic floral hop character is really all I find, along with traces of a weak scintilla of citrus. Not fruity really at all. No blueberry from the Mosaic or citrus from the Citra. Both hops seem wasted on this.
OVERALL: Really underwhelming fare from a brewery that's put out far better. Hop pungency is on par with an English pale ale at most, and it lacks focus. $4.25 a pint for this is extortion. Amongst the worst NYC IPAs (if you'll allow it that style designation) currently on the market. I'd caution friends from buying this.
D+ (2.41) / NOT RECOMMENDED
