Picked this up at Greenpoint a few months back and finally got around to it today as I was away in March. Not a bad IPA and on par with the rest of their recent offerings, though there wasn't anything particularly memorable or unique about this one. Soft, pillowy, and full of juice, I loved how easily it went down and had to pace myself in order to save a bit for this review!
Not a bad pour to this as the beer was a dark golden wheat with plenty of fluffy head and a very cloudy hue. A bit of sediment was at the bottom of the can but nothing excessive. A good amount of lacing that slid down the side of my pint glass was present as well, as everything was in alignment when it came to this beer's appearance. Lots of cream, stone fruit, and citrus juice in the muted but appealing nose. A slightly minty and herbal undertone came out in the taste with vanilla cream, peach, and chili spice in the mix as well. Clean and slick, there was enough spice and heat here to elevate this, as well as my temperature as I nearly broke into a slight sweat. Hints of velencia tied everything together as this came across as a dessert beer that would pair nicely with a chocolate orange and some pineapple chunks, down to the juice that could be mixed in her for good measure!
Lots of booze here as a very subtle but persistent earthy dankness kicked in as this warmed up. The hops weren't strong but it felt like there was enough Galaxy or Motueka present to give this beer the heft that it needed. Lovely can art here as the liquid inside was on par with it. Kudos to Greenpoint for brewing a consistently quality line of beers that hold their own against more popular ones from this neck of the woods!

This is a stronger NE style IPA. The alcohol in it can also affect the mouthfeel. This beer pours hazy and turbid but not murky. Nothing floating in it and it is not opaque. Just enough light will pass through to make it look like a sweet piece of candy. The head was thin, bone white and fell fast. Nose is pineapple with a little bit of fresh orange juice. A lovely sweet herbal and it's pepper. Also some white pepper which imo is the hop spice. The herbs in this remind me of pineapple leaves. A bit sharp and mildly dank. There is some lemon on the nose as well . It smells like fruit punch or fruit juice. The almost sweet succulent leaf herbal fills up the nose as much as the fruit and I like that very much. A bit of the green bell pepper. There is only a mild ester from alcohol on the nose and it is a sweet wafting you would hardly notice. The malt smells neutral and not really too crackery. There is just enough sweetness on the nose to make it tempting. Drinks softly and with plenty of softness in the body. It is juicy because the fruity flavors meet up with a touch of malty sweetness and make a juicy impression. The bell pepper adds earth to the nose and to the palate. It is ta great feature of the beer imo. Fruity beer is a dime a dozen but the bell pepper is tantalizing and even though it is common it becomes exotic because there it is next to pineapple, lemon and orange. Finishes just sweet and with a soft open bubble. If you can feel or remark as to the definition of a bubble then it was there. This one does not bite at all just lays out the malt for you. No alcohol on the palate but perhaps the alcohol has lightened the body enough so that this beer is not full. It is creamy and soft but medium. The bitterness and the herbal pepper as well as the flavor of bell pepper give the illusion how fruit juice drinks a bit tartly.
