On draught at City Swiggers, NYC.
Pours a lightly cloudy golden amber color. A modest head dissipates and yields rings of lacing.
The nose is WC IPA all the way. Very herbal, piney and resiny, predicting bitterness to come. Fruity and citrusy aromas of grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime, peach and apricot.
The dry cracker malt base is firm and moderately sweet, but soon yields to an assertive, nearly bracing, bitterness reminiscent of days past. Very resiny and pithy with notes of sharp pine needles, grapefruit rind, tangerine, orange, lemon, verbena, grass and peach.
Medium bodied with a slick and oily mouthfeel from the hops. The finish is dry with some refreshing crispness and a long and lingering resiny bitterness. The carbonation is moderate.
Very nice classic WC IPA. It’s citrusy and piney hops flavors take me back to what first appealed to me about the style. I would have again.
