.33 litres/2.60 euro at a bar in Serbia. Reviewed from notes taken around August 2015.
5.40% ABV.
HEAD: Foamy and frothy as hell - I love it. Soft-looking, inconsistent, fluffy. Leaves uneven lacing as it recedes. Retention is good - ~6-7 minutes. I dig the mocha-like froth.
BODY: Clear clean copper colour of average vibrance. No yeast is visible within.
Appears well-carbonated. This appearance fits the declared pale ale style.
AROMA: Plant-like notes, floral hops, pale malts. There're no offending off-notes, nor is there any overt boozy or yeast character.
Average aromatic intensity.
TASTE: Ripe banana, odd plant-like notes, a simple pale malt backbone, papaya, some vague fruity juicy notes. Balanced albeit somewhat simple, with above average depth of flavour.
Has adequate intricacy for a pale ale. I do like it, but the hop profile isn't terrific (particularly the almost off-flavour redolent plant notes).
TEXTURE: Light to medium-bodied. Smooth, wet, somewhat refreshing. Well-carbonated. Doesn't elevate the beer, but it suits the flavour profile well enough.
OVERALL: Drinkable and approachable, Melissa is a fine pale ale available at a fair price, and it'd be hard to do much better in Serbia if you're looking for a local pale ale. That said, it's far from unique or special.

A - Hazy light amber reddish color. Thin white head.
S - Very usual aroma for this style. Some citrus notes with grassy aroma in the back.
T/M - First, it is said that this beer is made with addition of some herbs from mount Kosmaj ( where brewery is situated), mostly one citrus spice similar as lemongrass. I really can`t feel it in the taste ! Lemongrass is very strong spice, but there is only some weak citrus aroma. Other aromas are very usual for Apa or Ipa style. Also good bitter aftertaste.
O - This should be interested, but unfortunatly it is usual Apa. On the other hand, good Apa.
