Pours a frothy head. Deep, burnt umber color. Light aroma is yeasty with a touch of malt. Starts with a sweet malt front, with light toastiness. Builds to a nice floral bitterness, as sweet malt comes back. Lingering malt sweetness in the finish, as oak starts to show through.
This is pretty nice. The finish is where it really shines. It's a great one to sip and enjoy slowly.

Aroma is oak, fruit and big diacetyl/butter. The flavor is fruit, diacetyl/butter, malts, mild caramel and a mix of tart and light bitterness in the finish.

Sampled at the brewery August 2015. 4.12
Bottle sampled March 2017, pitched as an "oaked irish ale". 3.5
Reddish tone with good clarity. Taste and aroma had a buttery diacetyl presence, presumably from the oak.
Medium bodied, easy enough to drink. The funky butter note wasn't doing it any favors.
