Black as the smoke from an old coal powered train and crafted with dark beer lovers in mind, this earthy full body porter hits you with caramel, chocolate, and toffee all while loads of hops are perfectly blended to produce a balanced beer anyone will relish.

Oustanding brew, pours jet black with little head. Smells of chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Taste follows, with some carmel and hop notes present. Full bodied mouthfeel. Aftertaste is of chocolate, coffee and some hop bitterness.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. A 3" pillowy tan head drops slowly. Beer is dark brown. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and barley syrup. Mouthfeel is heavy and astringent. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, heavily roasted barley, char, noticeable hop bitterness. Overall: brew had some strange off tasting bitterness, not sure if it was on the verge of infection as it had a vinegar note.

Came in a standard pint nearly jet black with a full one finger creamy mocha colored head atop.Dark roast coffee with a char tinge, bitter chocolate, and vanilla come thru in the nose. The feel is just fantastic, creamy and not too heavy, goes down nicely.Flavors of semi sweet chocolate and deeply roasted coffee with a tinge of vanilla and caramel giving it some sweetness up against the roasted element.A top notch porter...In stout range to me,anyways great feel and flavor profile,a joy to drink.

Nice dark body.
Decent head on 90° pour.
Great flavor with caramel, chocolate and a hint of coffee. Just a hint of roast.
Full body but not too filling.
Great all the way around.

Look: It pours dark brown with a brown head. The head is fairly long lasting and does produce a bit of lacing.
Smell: There are roasted malt aromas which dominate and the fruity esters coming in well balanced. There are also chocolate and coffee aromas as well.
Taste: The flavors go from sweet to bitter featuring the roasted malts, chocolate and then coffee flavors. There also fruity esters that taste like black cherries and plums. It also has a lightly burnt flavor.
Feel: It has a moderate feel to it with moderate bitterness.
Overall it is a malt driven ale that feature roast with coffee and chocolate compliments and well balance fruity esters.

On tap at the 2016 NCBM Festival and from cans at the 2017 Burning Can Festival (NC) and at home [February 2021].
Look. Dark and opaque body with a good light tan head. (2020 can had a minimal and ephemeral head).
Lightly sweet aroma with a rich flavor that is not as sweet as bitter. Lightly smokey and a bit too much burnt grain. Hoppy for style.
Feel. Medium-full body; very smooth
