very light take on the style, which part of me like and part of me dislikes, both about equally actually. the like part is that its not overdone on the fruit, so it still tastes like beer. its natural enough, and the tried and true combination of mango and passion fruit does its thing pretty well here. its summery and drinkable and fun. the dislike part is that the base beer would be almost irrelevant without the fruit, light as it is, which is to say that its thin, bland, and unexciting it appears. not much body or character from the wheat at all, a crisp sort of briny mineral thing is really all, a fast lactic twang too, but its there and gone, giving way to the fruit long before the finish. i could see this turning some newcomers on to conventionally sour beer where it has been intimidating before, this is mighty approachable, but it lacks the texture and complexity that the best beers in the style have. good carbonation helps though, and the fruit is tasty. overall good not great on this one. seems like everyone is making a fruited gose right now...
