Nice heading, reddish color and very nice aroma but bitter aftertaste.

S: faint bread crumb, spice and faint wood with some other grain in the background.
L: deep copper with a thin light cream cap that has moderate to poor retention.
T: lightly sweet with a hint of grain, a trace of caramel, finishing dry and faintly astringent with moderately high bitterness.
F: medium light body and medium carbonation.
O: This beer is a little thinner and lacks a malt based beer's texture and flavor but it is flavorful and if I had Celiac disease it is a beer that I would seek out.

so this is an ipa, but its done with the addition of black strap molasses, which must have enough impurities in it to not be all the way fermentable out of this thing. its not sweet or anything, but the rich raw flavor for the molasses is there all the way through it. its quite pungent, and comes as a surprise due to the pale color of the beer. it also comes at the expense of the hops a little bit. that baked dessert molasses character is strong enough to cover up some of the hops, i get more balancing bitterness than flavor from the for the most part, and while it makes this less of a classic ipa, i dont mind at all. this is remarkably flavorful and delicious. amazing to think its gluten free, sorghum base i am pretty sure. the molasses is a great flavor in here. they could stand to dry hop it a bit more, get the hops a little more active in the aroma and all, and it could also use just a little more body, but its an impressively tasty beer, unlike anything i have ever had, and one of the best ones i had here. this place was cool and if you need or want gluten free beer in the twin cities, this is the place to get it!
