I had this on-tap in a taster glass at the brewery.

Appearance: medium red-orange with a very light haze and moderate effervescence. Head leaves a nice ivory lace on the glass — quite attractive.

Smell: toasty, biscuity aroma with a bit of an earthy hop character. Not too bad.

Taste: quite toasty with a little biscuity character and a dank and earthy hop character. Bitterness is quite high for an amber, not too unexpected with the IPAmber moniker. Usually biscuity ambers are not my thing, but the balancing element of earthy, bitter hops works quite well here.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a rough carbonation yielding not much creaminess, but enough of a prickly texture to be refreshing.

Overall: this is not my favorite style, but this is a good example of it. It’s prickly and bitter which is much preferable to over-biscuity or cloying.
