I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: rich dark brown with good ruby highlights and a finger of creamy tan foam. A very attractive beer.
Smell: sweet and malty with plenty of caramel character, though not much roast.
Taste: rich and really quite sweet; there's a lot of caramel character and a little roastiness but it's mostly just sweet.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: for all that this beer is a nice quaff, it's not quite stouty enough for the style. Not bad, but it could work a little better.
