Stopped by Stoneface yesterday (29FEB20) and had a 6oz pour of this. Opted to snag a couple of bottles for later ($9.00 for 0.5l). Well, later is now!
Poured some into my trusty Smutty snifter... It's a deep, dark, near-opaque brown color. It's light on the head, with a miniscule layer on top with most of the light tan bubbles at the edge. Lacing is on the lighter side. The aroma is rich with caramelized brown sugar and very evident bourbon notes. It is very smooth and silky, gliding over the tongue, and has a medium to medium-plus body.
Flavor has plenty of malty character, with lots of caramel, brown sugar and some toffee. Has subtle intimations of dark fruit, plus an easily noticeable layer of bourbon-barrel action lingering in the shadows. Finishes with a nice, lingering sweetness. Not an everyday style to barrel-age, yet very enjoyable! Prosit!!
