RIS aged in Pinot Noir barrels for 9 months, creating a complex, vinous imperial stout: dark fruit, hints of cherry.

Snagged a 0.5l bottle a couple of weeks ago, for $14.00. Digging in now while scanning some of my 20,000+ slides....
The beer my sniftah now holds is viscous, fully black and opaque, like motor oil. Has a thin, wispy tan head, most of which clings to the edge. Doesn't have much lacework, though. The aroma has nice choco notes, with some dark fruit and vinous action. It is light on prickle and quite smooth going down, with a medium to medium-plus body.
Taste also has dark choco action to start things off. Then there's some black cherry plus raisins and currants. Has some earthy characteristics in the somewhat dryish finish. Not overly complex yet tasty nonetheless. Prosit!!
