Picked up this 0.5l bottle last week, for $15. Enjoying out in The 'Zebo on a lovely Friday evening ...
Into a sniftah, it pours a very dark, opaque chestnut color. Has light carbo and minimal head, mainly some light beige foam at the rim. Lacing, too, is sparse. The aroma is quite vinous and fruity. I get raisins and grapes right off, along with some black cherry. The feel is rather smooth, though the body is medium at best.
Flavor has a smidge of caramel and vanilla, but it mostly leans towards dark fruit. Has more vinous action, along with black cherry, raisins, grapes and a hint of vanilla. The finish is a touch dry, with some earthy hopping making an appearance. Pretty tasty, though not worth the $15, imo....
Prosit!!

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass bottled on 3/12/21. Pours a very attractive mahogany with a solid finger sticky khaki head that leaves some thick streaks of lace with nice retention. 4.5
Aroma cognac, oaked vanilla, dark fruit, cherry wood, toffee, and caramel. 4
Taste cognac, vanilla, dates, cherry wood, caramel, and toffee. 4.25
Mouthfeel is a little bigger than medium, a tad dry, fairly gentle carbonation, and at 10.7% really complex but drinks bigger. 4
Overall this is a really complex and well made BA Barley Wine and I would highly recommend for sure. 4
