Can. Deepest amber with a frothy light tan head.
Smells of charred wholemeal loaf, coffee grounds and roasted Brazil nuts.
Mellows upon tasting with a light burnt bitter flavour. Vegetation present.
Mild carbonation and medium body.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen (£1.89):
A fairly average Irish stout from the start here,t his one opened with plenty of roasted flavours & a nuttiness about it that was quite enjoyable too; these coupled with some subtle sweetness got the beer off to a good start but things faded a little after that. The beer seemed quite basic & ordinary with little else beyond what featured in the early going to keep you interested sadly. It remained a drinkable offering throughout but definitely seemed uninspiring & it's not likely that I'll pick another bottle up again either.

500 ml bottle served fairly cold into a pint glass. Purchased while on vacation in the UK.
Appearance - thin, cola colored beer. Little clarity owing to the dark color. A small, half finger of head is poured and recedes reasonably quickly. Not much lacing and only a tiny cap of foam sticks around.
Smell - Hints of coffee, and some vanilla with a deep molasses, peat and subtle butterscotch aroma forming the body. Fairly complex and rather aromatic. A lot of the aromas seem to disappear after a couple of sips.
Taste - Coffee, some earthy and intense bitterness, with a peppery finish. A little more bitter than it needs to be and no sweetness there that I had picked up on the nose.
Mouthfeel - Reasonably heavy bodied, carbonation is middling but palate finishes thin. Lacking richness and depth.
Overall - Not a bad Irish stout but not terribly impressive either. Would pass on this the next time.

Pours a very thin brown color with tan head. Lots of roast on the nose, almost smells like smoke, probably from the barley. Medium bodied. Not what I was expecting.
