On cask at the Twisted Hop Festival, Belfast.
Pours pale yellow with a loose white head that clings some. Big hop flower nose with a bit of barn. Straw and grain husk malts back by bitter hop oiliness with a touch of sweetness to close. Light with some stick.
Light, summery ale; like a toned down Summer Lightning.

On cask
Pours with a light yellow body, slight haze. Small tight fizzy head with fair retention
Smell, here we go again.... sulphur, noticable boiled egg aroma, some slight floral hops on the nose, little bit of malt
Taste, fizzy and eggy is the initial notable flavour, no matter what else is in here the nose automatically prepares you for more off flavours. Little bit of hop character, crisp fizzy malty body
Is it poor cask management? the yeast strain or an infection? There is an underlying off flavour almost all the time with Hilden's beers. Inconsistancy and the disappointment seem to be the underlying characteristics of the beers I've had so far from this brewery, i'd really like to be suprised sometime soon with something full of flavour, fresh and most notably free from off putting aromas and flavours

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
