Served on draught in the John Hewitt pub in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Reviewed from notes.
A: Thin half finger head of very poor retention. Hazy pale gold colour.
Sm: Light scent of hops. Barley.
T: Balance is biased towards the open - kind of unusual, but nicely executed. Citrusy hints complement the body. Estery hops. Well built for an Irish red. Some flavours bleed into the finish, but it's unnatural.
Mf: This beer's biggest problem. Too thin and a bit too smooth. Needs to pack more punch.
Dr: I won't reach for it again, but I'd recommend it to Irish red fanatics. I look forward to tasting more of Holden's brews.

On cask at the Porterhouse craft beer fest.
Pours golden red, served with no head. Nose of apple and chocolate. Sweet fruit malts with earthy mulch notes. Herbal hops bite at the end. Finish is dry and leafy. No carbonation; light body.
Not the biggest flavor range, but very drinkable. A step above most other Hilden offerings.
