Appearance - half finger head on a slightly hazy, amber body. Had a smaller sample size of this to try it.
Aroma – clove and coriander, light fruitiness, definite lager yeast.
Taste – bitter, bready, spicy/peppery.
Mouthfeel – a bit biting
Overall – It did not impress me enough to buy a full glass.

Actually drinking this one at the Stony Creek brewery yesterday, it was one of their guest taps. Pours a clear copper/brown color with a small head that has good retention. Varied aroma, deep fruity malts with a hint of booze, classic yeast notes on the back. Taste is OK, it's not the best weizenbock I've had. Definitely more maltier and fruitier. Yeast notes of clove are underlying. Some bitterness near the end, a bit too much. Heavier end of medium bodied, touch of alcohol spice. This one has potential, but still needs some work. I think if the yeast stood out a bit more it could combat the malts. Tasty beer but misses the mark.

Sampling this beer in a growler poured into a snifter. The beer pours a deep mahogany color with some rich ruby highlights. There is a tightly packed cream colored head of 3 cm that fades to a sturdy edge layer and one large wispy island.
Aroma is some clove and cherry cordial with a bit of brown sugar and sweet malt. no real hop presence and certainly nothing to speak of for hops shows up on the nose.
First sip reveals a smooth texture with spacious and mild carbonation.
The flavor is as anticipated from the nose with sweet malt, some clove and sweet fruitiness. Again I describe a cherry cordial note here. The booze is well hidden, but does sneak up on me a bit. This is a well made beer and is a good example for the style, if you like bigger slightly sweet beers this is a winner for you.
