Drank from a one quart growler purchased at Stubborn Beauty Brewing Company, Middletown, CT
Served in a pint glass
Thanks to my friend James for bringing this to my place.

Nearly clear, golden amber appearance. A two-plus finger tall, tight, fluffy, bright white crown topped the liquid. The head slowly dropped to a thick film. Streaky, patchy lacing coated the top portion of the glass.

The nose was quite dank but not very fragrant. It was also somewhat skunky. Skunked weed came to mind. Perhaps some skunked beer as well. There was a citrusy, orange rind-like quality that came out more as the beer warmed. Later, I picked up a bit of Lemon Pledge. Rather strange.

Citrus notes were quite apparent in the flavor profile. Orange and tangerine notes dominated. Slightly tangy. Lemony in the center. Orange rind appeared on the back end and in the finish. Overall, fairly well balanced. On the second glass, the beer turned much more pithy and bitter on the finish.

The mouthfeel was definitely the best aspect of this. It was medium bodied and contained a super fine, frothy effervescence. Pillowy soft on the palate. Really solid.

Ma-chine is a rather odd name for a rather odd beer. I had a difficult time figuring out what made this IPA so strange, but perhaps it was the hop varietals. This is definitely not one of Stubborn Beauty's better beers.
