Poured from a 22oz bottle into a speiglau stout glass.
Look is a pitch black with cafe au lait head.
Aroma is roasted malt and sweet rich raisins.
Taste is a little less rich than the aroma. Malt roastedness is there but the body falls a little thin.

Picked up a bottle of this at the Brewery April 3. Bottled on date says 3-5 on the bottle so that was a 2 month old bottle which doesn't matter for this style. Was excited to try this. It hits all the switches, looks great in the glass, nice 1 inch tan head, smells of sweet coffee, dark cacao, espresso. The taste is spot on too, follows the nose with a very slight boozy after taste. Where this fails is the mouthfeel. For a 9.8pct abv stout you want it to be viscous, thick and coat your mouth. This doesn't really do that. It's a bit thin for a imperial stout. Not as if you can't drink it but doesn't hold up to the best or even above average out there. If they made this a bit syrupy this would be an awesome stout. But as it stands its just above average.

From 03/15/16notes. 12 oz. pour in a tulip at Valhalla in NYC.
Pours a dark brown; almost black color, with one inch of dark tan head and moderate carbonation evident. Lots of roasted malts, milk chocolate, sweet and bitter chocolate, cream, and caramel malts. Thick full body and low carbonation, no heat.
Overall a great beer; looking forward to having this one again.

On tap at Valhalla in New York, NY.
This one pours a dark brown, almost black, with a creamy one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like chocolate, caramel, silky sweet coffee, and roasted malt.
This is a really caramel forward stout, lots of caramel and coffee, with some chocolate and a bit of roasted malt. It's super silky and tastes wonderful.
This has a creamy and silky mouthfeel , with a good level of carbonation.
A nice little surprise, way more caramelly than I would've expected.
