Pale yellow with a little haze. Nice, big head . Malty, fruit,y and herbal notes in the aroma. Malty taste balanced by a good amount of hops. Crispy and refreshing.

On tap at the Knickerbocker in altoona pa this evening.

Nice slightly hazy pale body with a big white head which persists throughout leaving decent lacing. Slow streams of carbonation.

A grassy, yeasty aroma.

This one's going down a treat. The crisp hay/grass/yeastiness melds well. It is very light in the hop department.

Mouth about medium, finish is grain and yeast.

Overall, not a style I go to often, but this was a nice find on a warm evening.

I'm a big fan of the Kölsch style, so I'm always excited when a U.S. brewer tries their hand at it. I'm happy to say this beer is a winner. It comes in a 16oz can (4-pack) with the words Kraftwerk "German Style" Kölsch on the label. This is a truly wonderful Kölsch-inspired beer...though I should mention in passing that this is not a "true to style" German Kölsch . It's hoppier than the traditional German Kölsches that I've tried (Reisdorf, Früh, even hoppier than Gaffel). It also possesses a mild peppery quality and a very slight sourness that I associate with some of my favorite Saisons. This beer goes down very easy, and the three tastes, basic Kölsch, the added hoppiness, and the mild "Belgian" qualities combine to winning effect.
