This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a pure dark brown close to black color in my glass. A nice dark eggshell white to semi-tan foamy head sat on top and gently slid off to leave a light concave lace.
The aroma seemed to start and mostly follow through on the "Void of Light" recipe. Give it about a good minute and slowly but subtly some warming pumpkin pie spices along with some ginger and allspice slide in underneath.
The flavor leaned into a stellar roasty and dark toasty mentality just pushing and pulling into each other as I somehow expected it would. Aftertaste of mainly the "Void of Light" recipe.
The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with a kind sipping quality about it. Some dryness but a big harsh roasty grip holds my tongue just like "Void of Light" did. Good carbonation and appropriate roastiness rolling into some smoothness.
Overall, it's still the same "Void of Light" most of us Gun Hill fans know and love, but the tweaking of that pumpkin is extremely subtle and really doesn't show so much. Me, I wasn't worried about that. Happy Thanksgiving to all and be thankful for whatever place you're in life.
