Clear amber with loose eggshell head that leaves the odd trail.
Cut peel marmalade and a bit of yellow cake on the nose.
Jaffa cakes and bit of mango with mild orange hops.
Cointreau finish and tightening linger.
Light to medium, crisp, oily.

This was brewed and bottled for the Belfast Beer Festival at the end of November. I didn't get the fuss then (even on cask) and I still don't now. Round and please premium bitter with a nice dose of EKG, but nothing that should have a hop bine on the label.

Hop mallet, more like.

Appearance - An almost tea like colouration similar to Darjeeling or Ceylon with a thick foam head that has very good retention and leaves a nice amount of sticky lace in the glass!

Smell - Toffee and biscuit almost like sticky toffee pudding some floral and leafy tones similar to cherry blossom. then there is a wonderful hit of dark chocolate!

Taste - An amazing sweet and bitter balance between the malt and the hops. Lots of woody elements and floral leafy flavour punchy bitter dark chocolate notes all balanced with the toffee pudding character. A wonderful balance.

MF - Creamy with a bitter dry end and very very good linger.

Overall - Another winner from the brewery in the mountains that sweep down to the sea. Great balance and complex flavour. The notes here say it retired, but where I come from this bad boy is alive and kicking so Drink up BAs!

Look:cloudy, rather like cold tea, meagre head
Smell: malt and caramel, quite appealing
Taste: lots of caramel, some malt, nice balance of bitter and sweet.
Feel:smooth with a little fizz
Overall: nice beer, I find it to have just a little too much caramel and not enough hops.

500ml bottle from Winemart, Enniskillen (£2.59):
Very enjoyable stuff, one of the best beers from the north of Ireland that I've tried thus far. There was plenty of hops & tropical fruits with a sweet malts, caramel & toffee backing that was well balanced & went down easily. A beer well worth looking out for.

A - Nice shade of light amber-copper, thin half-finger head that leaves sparse lacing.

S - Marmalade, heavy citrus and hop earthiness.

T - Again definitely leaning towards the hops with a sweet citrus, caramel sweetness, and a little resin flavor.

MF - Quite nice carbonation, though I'd prefer if there was a little more. There is just slim traces of bubbles edging toward the surface but the liquid still contains a decent amount.

O - A decent IPA, it seems this style is all the rage nowadays with brewery's attempting it with great or less than stellar results. This one has just made it over 'the line'. I'd try it again.
