Arrives in a snifter, black as a starless night with a ring of tan head to show you where the top is since light gets sucked in just like a black hole.
Smell is faint with toasted malt, a non-specific alcohol, some raisins and a hint of coffee eventually being teased out.
Taste is much better with notes of heavily roasted malt, coffee, raisins, whiskey, dark fruits just having an orgy of flavor with everybody balancing nicely.
Fairly full, lightly effervesced, warming and slightly drying in the finish. Very good stuff. Even better warmed up some.
