Arrives mahogany brown with a tan head of tight bubbles. Drops to a ring pretty quickly.
Smell is weak - though my allergies have been on overdrive all week - just notes of dark fruits, nuts and malt.
Taste is better, some dark chocolate, toasted malt, nuts, some faint dark fruit. Balance is good.
Medium body, lighter effervescence. Drying finish. Drinks more as a stronger brown ale than the Imperial Porter it is listed as. Such is life.
