I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery. It's labeled as a "licorice oatmeal stout".
Appearance: black with a thin layer of tan foam. Not much more is needed.
Smell: sweet and lightly roasty with a definite licorice character. Not bad.
Taste: sweet, roasty, caramelly and licoricey. It's almost got a bit of a root beer quality to it; I really like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a light carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: an interesting beer. Licorice stout - a good idea, and in this case well-executed.
