Our Red Ale has a malty, lightly sweetened personality that is smooth & easy on the palate. Subtle caramel aroma, topped with a cream-colored head, this beer is a Jack-of-All-Trades when it comes to food.

A: The beer is clear but dark reddish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a narrow collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sweet caramel and toasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of herbal and spicy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that the taste of this beer had a nice balance between the malt and hop flavors.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has an amber color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of dark fruits, some caramel. Taste is tart, balanced malts and hops, pine, hints of green apples. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, not bad, but one is plenty for me.

Decanted from a tap into a conical pint glass.
A: Dark copper with a quarter inch, persistent off-white head.
S: Little bouquet. Vegetable/mushroom, hot pepper, possibly sugar cane or caramel.
T: Caramel and bacon. Not a typical red ale vis a vis flavor; almost a rauchbier quality.
M: Light bodied, solidly carbonated.
O: A bit out of sync for a red ale. Not bad, just different.

All Broken Bow beers are minerally (NY water) and slightly sour.
You must try this odd red ale - one of my fave styles done here the oddest way. Just above Yonkers.
A: Pours a dr. pepper cherry bronze color w dotty film and lace.
S: Smells of mostly sour, with caramel, cola, cherry, and dark fruits. Sweet and no hops.
T: follows smell but more tart, cidery, almost peppery on top of a caramel, grape and cherry base. Too odd for me, but fun. Good with peppery cayenne dark chocolate.
F: Thin, fizzy and continued on the border of cider, soda.
Overall - Weirdly enjoyable. Try 1

Pretty tart, bordering on the sour but not quite getting there, smells like old irish red lemonade, mouthfeel is nothing special, all in all I think this is a pretty good brew.

The beer comes in a rich medium to deep amber color.
The aroma offer caramel, medium maltiness, almost no hops.
The flavor follows mild caramel, neutral, lightly toasted grains, biscuity malt, a bit of roasted quality offering a dry finish.
