Brimming with Citra and Mosaic hops, this Triple IPA remains remarkably smooth with just a hint of alcohol warmth.

Served on tap at the Broken Bow Brewery in Tuckahoe, NY.
A: Pours a nearly clear, amber color with a 2 finger, wheat colored head, solid retention, but moderate lacing..
S: Aromas of vanilla, orange, and caramel.
T: Semisweet to sweet. Flavors of caramel and molasses, orange, cherry, vanilla, and white pepper. Minimal bitterness.
M: Full bodied with moderate to strong carbonation.
O: Reminds me more of a Barleywine than a Triple IPA. Delicious, nonetheless.

A deep, dark orange IPA with a rich, off white head that has lots of staying power. Copious lacing and a some syrupy cling with each swallow. Remarkable give the abv. It just looks gorgeous. Not much carbonation visible. The beer stays covered by a thing veil of foam.
Nose is juicy with mosaic and citrus as advertised. Notes of melon, light pine, pineapple guava and mango. A citrus farm is in bloom. Malt is quite well presented with a pilsner grain body and caramel malt sweetness over a multigrain dough and sugar cookie flourish. Really well done malt bill. It platforms the beer so well that it is easy to miss, even as it unmistakably sets the stage for the hops. A mild, peppery bite is the only hint of the strength of this brew.
Taste is a superb balance of big malt and huge hops. Lovely sweet malt. Lightly toasted grains, some dinner roll sweetness. Melon juiciness builds the malt bill up and then the hops hit BAM! Tropical fruits, and mild pine. Grapefruit skni and multigrain toast. Tons of hop oil in the finish. My mouth is coated with it and it clings gloriously while yielding more husky graininess. No hint of the huge amount of alcohol that goes down with each sip. This is unbelievable in how well it is hidden.
Feel is smooth and silky with mild and creamy carbonation. Surprisingly light and supple on the tongue. A bit of light syrup on the swallow is a faint nod toward the big abv.
Such a well done brew. So drinkable it ought to be outlawed. Delicious and perfectly balanced. This a a new favorite in the high gravity IPA category. Maybe my absolute fave. Outstanding!
