Our take on this stylistically new Brut IPA is straw in color, dry-hopped with Citra and Galaxy which highlights a dry, crisp mouth feel. This champagne-like beer is perfect for special occasions!

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a very hazy golden body beneath a two finger thick head of rocky off-white foam. The aroma is peachy, citrusy, and resinous. It's not the brightest aroma but there's no doubt that you're drinking an IPA. The taste follows. The malt is firm, gently sweetish, grainy, and just slightly biscuity. The hops are like peach, lime, and passion fruit. It's got a bold bitterness and it finishes dry, earthy, and spicy (probably from the alcohol). It's definitely a take no prisoners IPA. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp then smooth and creamy across the tongue. I'm quite happy with the basic, solid, and strong offering. Due to its strength (8.0% abv) I couldn't make it a go-to but I can certainly recommend grabbing up some of this if it's still available. It's perfect for one of those nights where you're only gonna have one beer and you want to make sure it satisfies you. The big problem with this beer in terms of reviewing it is that it doesn't really fit the Brut IPA style. It's a bit too dark in color, certainly too malty, has too much body, and is far too bitter to be a Brut IPA. I'd initially scored it like this - Look: 4.25 Smell: 4 Taste: 4.25 Overall: 4 which gave it a 4.14 which is pretty damned good! However, adjusting the numbers in reviewing it as a Brut IPA it's dropped considerably.

Pours a clear copper golden color, tint of orange, and slow moving carbonation visible. A finger nail length head soon recedes but yields lacing.
The nose is fragrant with floral and fruity and herbal hops. Aromas of pineapple, lime, peach and passion fruit. Dank aromas of grass and pine compliment the fruity notes.
The taste opens sweetly and is surprisingly not as dry as I expected from the Brut IPA style. Doughy and chewy biscuity, bready and caramel malt are balanced by moderate bitterness. It supports fruity notes of peach, apricot, passion fruit, grapefruit and candied oranges. The palate begins to dry up somewhat as grassy and herbal spices develop. The finish is dry throughout, with a touch of bitterness.
Medium to full bodied. The mouthfeel is mostly smooth and somewhat chewy. The carbonation is less effervescent than expected.
Nice tasting IPA that feels more like a DIPA rather than a Brut. It simply doesn’t have that dryness or champagne like effervescent. Nevertheless, it’s tasty.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a custom taster pint; no production information.
A: Pours a slightly hazy, golden to light amber color with a 2 finger, off-white head, solid, half finger retention, and foamy lacing.
S: Aromas of pineapple, nectarine, and lemon initially, with fruitiness fading to more caramel and cracker.
T: Semidry. Flavors are caramel malt mostly with generic fruitiness. Rather strong bitterness lingering in the mouth to an almost wasabi afternote.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Very drinkable and enjoyable AIPA overall. Frankly, while appropriately dry, it is a bit heavy and hazy for the Brut IPA style (in my humble opinion). I have had a number of high quality ABIPAs and this doesn't quite fit the style. It could also do with a touch less bitterness.
