A smooth, balanced bitter. Brewed with traditional English hop and malt varieties, Star is our take on the classic British bitter, with a modern approach to brewing technique & ingredient sourcing. Aromas of nuts and winter berries combine with biscuit, caramel malt notes for an ale with herbal freshness & pleasing bitter finish.

On cask as the Hand and Shears House Ale in the lovely pub of the same name near the Barbican. Comes out a dark bronze colour, with a soapy white head that settles to a thin lacing. The nose is spiced, with notes of toffee and chocolate. The same on the tongue, but with a disappointing bitter acidity that hints of dishwater at the end. (Added 26/7/25 - that dishwater note is still there on cask at the Royal Albert, so it doesn't seem to be a cask/line issue).
