A 330ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2017. Acquired a little while back from Home Bargains.
A: Poured into a tulip. A deep orange-amber colour with good clarity and low carbonation. Forms a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before collapsing and dissipating.
S: Aroma of grainy malt with hints of mild barley sugar, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Clean but insipid.
T: Tastes of light, grainy malt with notes of subtle barley sugar, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Dry, with a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and decent body. Aftertaste of mild grain, ale yeast and a twinge of stewed hops.
O: Meh - exceptionally bland. Unexciting looks, while the aroma and flavour are a staid mix of grain, ale yeast and faint hops. Body is OK. Nothing technically wrong with it, but this is so characterless it could almost be a macro brew. No need to seek it out.

On cask at Barley Mow. Pours a bit darker than expected...a light amber with low creamy head that dissipates with some spotting. There is very little nose, some musty basement and very feint malt. Taste is light malt, some hop bitterness to balance, a touch of diacetyl, and a touch of skunkiness...although this obviously come from something other than being light-struck since this is a cask beer. Overall, not a good beer.

Pours clear light amber into a glass from a bottle. Offwhite head is quick to disappear to nothing after a short moment.
Aroma is almost non-existant, all I get is mild malt. The flavour is quite malty as well with some nice creamy toffee flavours coming through alongside the citrus. There is a slight hop bitterness and a grassy character which nicely compliments the maltiness.
Mouthfeel is light, a little zingy, before rolling into a more oily feel in the back.
A little unbalanced but otherwise a fair session pale ale.
