Tasted from a 12 oz bottle bought at Beer Bazaar in Tel Aviv, Israel
L - Extremely dark brown, just shy of full black. Opaque in the glass, but the edges look clear when held up to the light. Tan head is not very thick, but the thin layer maintains until the end of the glass, along with lacing of super-tiny bubbles.
S - Aromas of burnt grain and light wood smoke. No yeast character or hops are noticeable. Ok for the style, but there is not much depth to the nose.
T - Smoke and singed grains are the primary flavors, but there is a very light herbal note that must be from hops. Like the aroma, there is not much complexity or depth of flavor.
F - Thinnish body and light carbonation are OK for the style. Low hops bitterness. No alcohol presence is noticeable.
O - This is a simple English-style stout that was brewed with a very light touch. The light wood smoke note adds is an interesting highlight.
